Music-loving Plinia — or Plinny as she likes to be known — knew that Dublin was the city for her after discovering the music scene during a weekend away. That was a trip that changed her life forever. Once she arrived home to her small town in Sardinia, Plinny quit her job, booked a flight and two months later moved to the Emerald Isle.

How Dublin stole Plinia’s heart
“I saw so many amazing musicians playing and I knew straight away that I wanted to live here”
Plinny’s first love has always been music, and the music scene in Dublin was unlike anything she had experienced before. When she first encountered live music pouring out of Dublin’s many pubs she instantly fell in love. Having grown up with a love of everything musical Plinny knew that this was the perfect place for her to grow as a singer.
Once she arrived in Dublin, Plinny saw every bar and pub as a potential music outlet. Spurred on by her desire to perform, Plinny put together a band who she still sings with to this day.
“Music is my passion and I love to sing whenever I have a chance.”

Living like a local
“I am a born performer. I’m at my happiest when I am entertaining people.”
After the rush of moving, it didn’t take Plinny long to settle into local life in Dublin. Within 20 days of leaving her homeland, she found a job and then after two months her first home. Fast forward five years and Plinny feels like Dublin is truly her second home.
When she is not exploring her musical potential, Plinny loves to get out and spend time in the city. As a self-confessed bookworm, Plinny can often be found in one of Dublin’s many, many bookstores. She also loves having so many museums and art galleries on her doorstep and tries to visit them as often as she can.
Plinny uses Dublin’s musical nature to develop her artistic flare. Since moving to the Emerald Isle she has joined multiple art schools and has taken courses in songwriting to develop herself musically.

“I can’t be more than two months without seeing the sea. So I often head to Skerries or Dalkey”
As a born performer, it comes as no surprise that one of Plinny’s favorite areas in Dublin is the Grand Canal Docks, home to one of the largest theaters in Ireland. With a cool modern vibe and trendy cocktail bars, it is this perfect spot for locals like Plinny to relax and unwind.
Merrion Square is another one of Plinny’s favorite areas that she loves for its greenery, beautiful Georgian Houses and proximity to the National Gallery of Ireland which she tries to visit once a month.
But what Plinny really loves is to escape the city and see visit Ireland’s wild coastline. Having grown up just five minutes away from the sea, Plinny likes to visit the coast whenever the opportunity arises. Whether that means going north to the coastal town of Skerries or south to the seaside suburb of Dalkey, one of Dublin’s major draws in Plinny’s eyes is just how close the city is to the coast.

Why localings?
“I like to bring a musical element to my experiences. You’ll often find me singing during a tour”
Working as a localings host is the latest string to Plinny’s already overcrowded bow. Everyday Plinny does what she loves by working as a singer, voice coach and now also a Localings host.
With music being ever-present in Plinny’s life all her experiences have a musical note. Whether she’s recommending the best spots to enjoy live music, introducing guests to the best musicians in town or bursting into song in the middle of an experience. Plinny just wants her guests to fall in love with Dublin’s music in the same way she did.
“I know where to find the best musicians in town and sometimes I introduce them to my guests”
